Anyone want an owl pellet?
My rotation today was to be in Leah's class. Today's science inspection was am owl pellet! Ewww! The odor was not like anything pleasant! After all, owls regurgitate everything they eat before they can eat again! We saw an actual skull of what happened to be a mice! There were bones and "stuff"!
Leah also demonstrated how to make a Scotty dog using origami! I thought she did a great job! I can tell she is getting more comfortable with public speaking!

Crawfish inspection....ewwww!!!
At CC, it was an inspection.....of a crawfish or some say a crawdad(depending where you live). It had been preserved and I thought we were at Fisherman's Wharf. Abby wasn't too fond of it. It was a cute little guy!! They also started the Tin Whistle. Thing 1 and Thing 3 couldn't let it down. Abby also had a demonstration speech. She demonstrated on how to make homemade playdough. She did well. The kids wanted to come up and touch and feel the playdough. It was a good day.

Leah's writing class
Week 3 of Leah's writing class. Can I say 'intensive'!! At least that's what I was saying at week 1. You should see the the syllabus!! There's a lot of materials to cover!! They will be actually binding their own autobio book!!
This class has set Leah to new highs and new lows. She is actually learning how to write papers...something I have been lacking!! Each week there is homework that consists of poems, journals, and a narrative paper. It is so neat to see Leah flourish into this special young lady God has molded! I am so proud to call her my daughter!

Week 3 of CC
This week I had the privilege to be Leah's class. This week's presentation was giving a humorous interpretation. Leah memorized a poem called "Don't ever bite your sister". It's so interesting to see so many different personalities! God made each person different! That's our Creator!
We live in a small world!! Had a parent sitting right next to me.....come to find out she is David West's sister!! She out two and two together!! God gave us another wonderful day at CC!

Abby's writing class
Abby has been taking a CA history writing class on Thursdays. If you asked me what extra curr activity we signed up for that I absolutely love......the answer would be this writing class. They are doing a lapbook over CA. Abby loves learning visually, and that's exactly what they're doing in this writing class.

Welcoming the 1st day of school
The girls were so eagered to start school this year!! The alarm clock was set. The clothes were laid out. And prayers were said. As morning approached, Hudson was all bushy-eyed! As the day proceeded, the catastrophes increased. First, I found Hudson with a box of Kleenex all strewed in his crib. Next, he falls and cuts his lip. Finally, he dropped a drawer on his toe. We are hopeful tomorrow will bring us joy!
Homeschooling year #7
It is hard to believe we have been homeschooling for 7 years. The bible says the number 7 represents perfection or completion. We definitely do not have this perfected. Every year has its challenges. Every year we learn from our shortcomings. Every year we depend on God for strength and motivation. But, every year I am in AWE to see how God has molded each one of the girls.
To get ready for this school year, the girls had free haircuts at JCP. They really wanted to go short. They were going for the Kit Kittridge look.
To say that I have a 2nd grader, a 4th grader, and a 6th grader gives me great joy that I have a privildge and obligation to teach these girls not only their ABC's and their 123's.....but most importantly teaching them how keep their eyes on Jesus! O, taste and see that the LORD is good!! Psalm 34:8.
